4 Vegan Bakeries/Cafes to Visit in Paris

But what about the croissants? That was the first thing people asked when I told them I would be traveling to Paris as A VEGAN!

As someone who loves a good challenge, I set out to find (and eat) as many vegan pastries as I could … And Paris did not disappoint. Vegan croissants, macarons, cupcakes, pain au chocolat and more! There was no shortage of plant-based French pastries.

If you’re going to this iconic city soon or if you’re wondering whether to go, here’s a list of vegan bakeries and cafes you must visit in Paris!

VG Pâtisserie Végétale

This iconic vegan pastry shop opened in 2017 as the first ever vegan patisserie and serves everything from fresh croissants to custom cakes. It’s located in the 11th arrondissement and as soon ass I had their croissants, I understood the hype. I recommend to get there as soon as it opens to avoid a long queue and take the pastries to go, seating is very limited!

Land & Monkey

This vegan boulangerie has a few locations around Paris and it’s my top pick. It has pastries and sandwiches throughout the day plus freshly baked bread if you want to have a “eating baguette on the streets” moment! I had a tofu sandwich and some pastries to go. The coffee was one of my favorites I had during my trip. I went to the location on the 11th arrondissement and it was spacious and chill.

Cloud Cakes

This quaint vegan coffee shop has two locations in Paris and one of them is conveniently located near the Louvre (13-minute walk). They specialize in cakes, cupcakes, and macarons plus savory options like tofu scramble, grain bowls, and salads. I went near closing time so everything was almost sold out but still enjoyed what I got. They also offer really good iced coffee which is a rare in Europe!

Grounded

Another vegan coffee shop that should be on your radar, it’s also located in the 11th arrondissement They have a smaller selection of pastries with a focus on various cinnamon rolls which I highly recommend trying. I also had one of their avocado toast which turned out to be one of my favorite avo toasts I’ve ever had! Pretty small so I recommend going early or ordering to go, as they don’t take reservations.

Those are all the vegan cafes I tried during my visit in Paris, if you want to see a full list of plant-based restaurants check out this VegNews article written by me!!
